Thank you to Osceola

This letter is to make everyone aware of what I am doing and to express my appreciation to the people of this community.

I have worked as a police officer for 22 years and am now eligible to draw on my pension. I am going to put my commercial driver’s license back to work by delivering trucks to dealers and customers across the United States.

As I write this, I am feeling mixed emotions. I am very excited about the opportunity to travel and see the country again, but I also feel other emotions about leaving a job I love and serving a community I love.

Over the years, I have met a ton of fabulous people here. Some I have gotten to know very well and others a more casual acquaintance.

Thanks to all of you for the support over the years and I hope I have been a positive influence in the lives of some of you.

It is especially gratifying when in the course of duty an officer is able to truly help his fellow human being. I wouldn’t trade my time as a police officer here for any other occupation there is.

I have been fortunate to receive tremendous support from the citizens here, the local government officials and my supervisors past and present.

I especially want to thank all the great people I have worked with over the years. This includes fellow officers, deputies, dispatchers, prosecutors, court personnel, various city staff and many more.

As I have told many people I am not retiring (I am still useful), this is simply a career change. I intend to stay informed about community issues and be a productive member of society.

Once again thank you and it has been my pleasure to serve.
