Osceola Big Chief FFA at Iowa State Fair

This is an FFA article from Clarke Community High School.

“The Iowa State Fair attracts thousands of people from all across the state and even from different parts of the country. The fair gives kids and adults the opportunity to try new foods, ride rides and check out the different kinds of agricultural exhibits Iowa has to offer. Two of our very own FFA members had the opportunity to attend the fair and be a part of the action.

Ann Taylor was chosen to be a Grandstand Usher and helped on the ground floor of the grandstand by helping people to their seats and answering any questions they had. She was also able to volunteer in the Animal Learning Center by taking care of and feeding the animals.

Taylor said, “Working at the State Fair through FFA helped me make connections that I can use the rest of my life. I would recommend anyone to sign up and join the experience!”

Our very own Carter Cooley was also able to be at the state fair and show. She showed her Cross Bred Market Gilt and Purebred Hampshire Breeding Gilt.

Cooley told us, “Showing at the Fair gives me more experience with showing pigs than I could have asked for.”

The state fair was a success and our chapter is proud to have students involved in such an important state event.”
