An accident was reported 2:45 p.m. Oct. 26 at the intersection of Highway 34 and Interstate 35.
According to an Iowa State Patrol report, Robert Milo Drake, 86, of Creston, driving a 2001 Buick, failed to yield to the right of way from the intersection’s stop sign. Louise Annette Brown, 56, of Murray, driving a 2009 Kia east on Highway 34, was unable to stop and struck the back driver’s side of Drake’s vehicle.
Brown was transported to Clarke County Hospital with injuries. Drake was reported as injured. They were both wearing seat belts.

No citations were issued after an accident 9:04 p.m. Oct. 17 near the 32 mile marker on Interstate 35.
According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Anthony Edward Bailey, 55, of Kansas City, Mo., driving a 1997 Ford pickup, was driving south on Interstate 35 towing another vehicle when a hitch broke. The towed vehicle, a 1984 GMC pickup, crossed and came out of the interstate’s median.
The towed vehicle struck a 2006 Chrysler driven south on Interstate 35 by David John Bunge, 62, of Cedar Rapids. The towed vehicle went across the interstate and came to a stop in the west ditch.
Damage estimate is $5,000 to Bunge’s vehicle.
