The West Lake Ice Out Ice Fishing Tournament was held Sunday, Feb. 15, in Osceola. It was hosted by Cody Mundy.
This year’s event saw an increase in participation with nearly 50 percent of participation growth. The event brought in nearly 150 fishermen consisting of men, women and children from all over Iowa and Missouri.
Participants took to the ice at 8 a.m. with weigh-in beginning at noon.

Because of the sponsor’s assistance with merchandise and a large pay out for this year’s champions, the event was a great success. More than 800 fish were caught by the anglers.
Every participant went home with door prizes valued in the thousands and the top angling team took home the largest payout of the tournament with $998.
