Changes at Clarke County Hospital

We at Clarke County Hospital are excited to begin a new chapter at our facility on Monday, March 30. The vision of planning on our expansion and renovation project will soon become a reality. This project will take the level of care we provide to residents in our community to a whole new level.

In planning our expansion, we kept you – the patient and community – in mind. After all, this is your hospital and we know you deserve the best care when the need arises.

One of the key aspects of the expansion focuses on better meeting the primary care needs of our community. We will do this by expanding the UnityPoint Clinic to support seven practitioners.

The expansion will also address additional space for the increasing number of specialists who see patients at Clarke County Hospital. We are constantly looking for opportunities to grow in the number of specialties who provide services at the Clarke County Hospital.

During the project we also will be making improvements upon maintaining our patients’ privacy in our registration department, as well as in other service areas throughout the hospital.

Let me assure you during the expansion project and beyond our commitment to provide quality care to you and your loved ones remains our top priority at Clarke County Hospital.

We are aware minor inconveniences may be experienced through the duration of this project. We will be asking the UnityPoint Clinic patients to park in the hospital parking locations which provide close, easy access to the entrances.

Parking for our hospital patients and visitors will remain on the east and north side of the hospital.  We have freed up parking spaces in the north and main entrances by creating a new employee parking lot. This will free up parking spots for our visitors and patients.

We will be closing the UnityPoint Clinic parking lot on March 30.  Please follow the signs which will be prominently displayed around the perimeter and you’ll have no problem finding a place to park.

In 14 months, we will have a new entrance to the hospital that has a canopy to protect our patients and visitors as they’re dropped off at the hospital as well as new, larger parking lots to serve the growth of the facility.

I am also very proud of our auxiliary, who have volunteered to help our patients and visitors at both the north and east entrances of the hospital.  We will ensure finding the location where you will be served is never an issue.

This phase of the expansion project will take a total of 20 months to complete.  I am confident you will be proud of the progress made at our facility as we continue to provide you excellent, compassionate and personalized care close to home.

Thank you for your continued support.
