Jim Vicker Osceola

Jimmy D. Vicker, 57, of Osceola, formerly of Creston, died March 21, 2015, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.

Celebration of life services were 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, Creston. Mary O'Riley officiated. Burial was private. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Jimmy Dean Vicker, son of Nancy Jane (Young) and Robert Lewis Vicker, was born April 11, 1958, in Creston. He was educated in Creston Schools.

In 1976, Jim married Donna Smith in Illinois. They settled and worked in the Monmouth, Ill., area. Jim worked for a pottery factory in Monmouth, Ill. They later divorced.

Jim then moved to Creston where he worked for the Creston Co-op.

On May 21, 2001, Jim married Mary Elizabeth Beakler in Osceola. They settled and worked in Osceola. Jim worked as a machinist for Iowa American and Item Inc., both of Osceola.

Jim is survived by his wife Mary Vicker of Osceola; son Brian (wife Kali) Vicker of Little York, Ill.; stepson Eugene Beakler of Des Moines; granddaughters, Alyssa and Bryanna Vicker; father Robert (wife Vicki Jo) Vicker of Creston; sister Pam Van Fosson of Centerville; brothers, Randy (wife Anne) Vicker and Mark (wife Angie) Vicker, all of Creston; stepsister Staci (husband Chad) Wilker of Creston; aunt Dorothy Herr of Fontanelle; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents, Jo and Edna Vicker and Harold and Vera Young; brother-in-law Donald Van Fosson; uncles, Richard and Ralph Vicker and Robert Young; and nephew Ben Tripp.
