Boyer elected district FFA officer

In early February, Kaitlyn Boyer went through the interviewing process along with 24 other FFA members from around the South Central District for district officer positions.

Interviews were held at the Leon High School and consisted of an individual interview and a group interview.

The group interview was where four applicants worked together as a team in a discussion and were evaluated on how well they were a team player.

From this night, 10 members, two for each position except president, were balloted to give their speech at the South Central District Convention at North Polk on March 7.

Boyer was balloted for vice president. Her speech was to be no longer than two minutes and given to about 60 members throughout the district who voted on the officers.

After presenting her speech, she was asked two impromptu questions. At the closing of the district convention, the new district officers were announced and installed.

Boyer was elected as the 2015-16 South Central District FFA Vice President.

As a district officer, she will help plan and coordinate district FFA events, help members grow as leaders and promote FFA and agriculture throughout our district and state.

At the State FFA Leadership Conference held in April, the south central president will be announced and the team will be complete.
