Free pressure canner dial testing at Clarke County Extension Office

Gardening and preserving fresh fruits and vegetables go hand-in-hand. Be ready to capture all the garden fresh flavor by preserving your foods safely.

Pressure canners with a dial gauge need to be checked yearly. People may bring their canner lid to the Clarke County Extension Office and have it tested for accuracy.

The canner dial will be tested against a master gauge, which will determine if the gauge is accurate, if people can compensate for their gauge being off, or if their gauge needs to be replaced.

There is no charge for this service. Testing can be done during regular business hours of the extension office.

The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For questions or more details, contact Clarke County Extension Office at 641-342-3316.
