Osceola Senior Center

Clarke County residents:

We are very proud of our Osceola Senior Center. We provide a place for senior citizens to come Monday through Friday for a hot noon meal and fellowship.

We are a non-profit organization. Our operating expenses depend mostly on donations. The meals are prepared in our kitchen, but menus and supplies are provided by the Connections Agency of Creston, Iowa. The money collected each day for the meals is given back to the agency — $3.50 suggested donation for seniors, handicapped or disabled. Those of a younger age pay $6.50.

SCICAP has an office in the north building for helping those in need in our community with food stamps, food pantry and other needs. Both the Connections Agency and SCICAP pay us rent to use the site, which also helps with our income.

The center can also be rented by individuals in our community when needed. For rentals, call 641-344-5347.

In recent years, we have had some serious concerns with our income and possibly closing the site. We have had some fundraisers and applied for some grant monies. We appreciate all who have donated to help us with our expenses and keeping our site open.

We thank the Clarke County Development Corporation, Clarke County Housing Foundation, Walmart, city of Osceola, Clarke County Board of Supervisors and many private individuals who have so generously given donations to the center. All of the money is appreciated and will help us with our goal to continue providing a senior center for our community.

We can’t thank you enough!
