ClarkeCountyLife.com website goes live

It’s your “life,” use it!

This spring, Clarke County Development Corporation (CCDC), in collaboration with Clarke Community School District, Clarke County Board of Supervisors, Clarke County Hospital board and the city of Osceola hired Spoke Communications to help them with a public relations marketing effort.

The first thing Spoke Communications did was begin a process of understanding how people in Osceola get their information. Part of the process was the establishment of a new website called ClarkeCountyLife.com.

“The challenge so many times in a community is that information that gets circulated is not always accurate,” said Bill Trickey, executive director of CCDC. “So, we wanted to at least have a place where people knew they would get the straight scoop. So, we’re very conscious of accuracy with that.”

Press releases and other items of interest and information can be found on the website. There’s also an option for people to share their own news.

Survey

An online survey has been created to gather information about where Clarke County citizens prefer to get their news, what kind of news they like, as well as what news they want.

The survey can be found at www.ClarkeCountyLife.com/introduction-survey. It takes between three and five minutes.

“We want to be the good news guys, and we want to focus on helping people understand, ‘Hey, there’s a lot of great things going on in our town,’” Trickey said. “And, the newspaper’s one of those things, but in addition to that, there’s all these other things, too.”

The website is up and ready to go for people to look at. It can be viewed from a mobile phone, and if people have an iPhone, there’s an app to download. The Android version of the app is still being finished.

When asked why people should go to the website, Trickey answered, “To understand what’s going on in the community, look for news that’s going on in the community. Good things are happening in the community.”
