DES MOINES — Angela Miller of West Des Moines won first place overall and a $300 cash award in the Egg-Ceptional eggs cooking competition, judged at the 2015 Iowa State Fair.
Mary Tibbetts of Urbandale earned second place overall and $200. Louise Piper of Garner claimed third place overall and $100.
Entries were judges on flavor, appearance, texture and ease of preparation.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There were 228 divisions, 850 classes and more than 10,600 entries at this year’s fair. Food department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Wells Blue Bunny.
