Iowa Public Television to showcase talented students at the 2019 Terrace Hill Piano Competition

JOHNSTON — Iowa Public Television announced Tuesday it will once again host the Terrace Hill Piano Competition. The 2019 competition will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the IPTV studios in Johnston. A showcase of this year's performances, beginning at 2 p.m., will be live streamed on Iptv.org, YouTube and Facebook, with a statewide broadcast to follow 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15.

All sessions of the competition are open to public. Attendees will enjoy some of the best amateur musical entertainment while being part of live television in the making. To register for free tickets to the Terrace Hill Piano Competition, visit Iptv.org.

Established in 1986, the annual event features junior and senior-level high school students, and scholarships are awarded to the winners of the senior competition. All judging is done by out-of-state music professionals.
