Scholarship History
The John Hughes Memorial Scholarship was established in 1986 by the Iowa Bankers Association as a memorial for banker John Hughes from Hills, Iowa.
Hughes, a past chairman of the Iowa School of Banking Advisory Board, maintained a strong affiliation and support for the Iowa School of Banking since its origination. In his memory, two scholarships are awarded each year. These scholarships pay all room, board, and tuition expenses for recipients to attend the first-year curriculum of the Iowa School of Banking. This year the school will be held June 7-12, 2020 at the Marriott Hotel in Cedar Rapids.
