Homecoming week at Clarke

As you can tell by the painted store windows and cars all over Osceola, Homecoming at Clarke Community High School is this week.

There are activities all week at the school, but things kick into high gear Thursday with Boom Night.

There will be a tailgating party on the east side of the school beginning at 5:30 p.m. Boom Night begins at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gym. The spirit fire will follow on the practice football field, weather permitting.

The coronation assembly will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m., where the 2010 Homecoming king and queen will be crowned. The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. in downtown Osceola.

The Clarke football team takes on Prairie City-Monroe in the Homecoming game Friday night. The Indian freshmen will play at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest.

For Clarke’s Homecoming this year the junior class is declaring Friday night’s football game a “Maroon Out.” Everyone is asked to wear something maroon to show their school spirit.

The junior class is selling t-shirts for $3 each. These are the official 2010 homecoming t-shirts. They are maroon shirts with the saying “I Bleed Maroon & White.”

They are selling these shirts during homecoming week at the high school and at other school events.
