WINTERSET — Clarke senior Katlego Mogongwa added three more gold medals to his growing collection here Friday at the Winterset Co-Ed Invitational.

The Indian won the 100-meter dash in 11.48 seconds, the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.91 and the long jump with a leap of 20-feet 8-1/2-inches.

Mogongwa’s efforts helped the Indians to a tie for fifth place in the nine-team field.

His distance in the long jump was just two inches off his own school record of 20-feet 10-1/2-inches, which he set earlier this season in Adel. That broke a 60-year-old record of 20-feet 7-inches, recorded in 1951 by Gary Lutz.

Mogongwa was also on the Indian third-place shuttle hurdle relay team with Eric Robinson, Logan Weers and Tyler Reindl.

Weers finished third in the 110 high hurdles, while Gage Beers was third in the 3,200 and fourth in the 1,600. Dylan Diveney and Reindl each jumped 5-8 in the high jump, with Diveney finishing tied for third and Reindl fifth based on number of total misses.

Interstate 35 finished third in the team race, led by 400-meter dash champion Caleb VanDyke. The Roadrunner senior crossed the finish line in 52.74.
