Georgia Carson Osceola

Georgia Carson, 87, of Osceola died Jan. 2, 2015, at Rhonda’s Guest Home.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. In the case of inclement weather, join the family Friday at Osceola Eagles Lodge for lunch. Georgia Irene Carson, daughter of Carl Roy Jones and Dorothy Irene Dean Jones, was born July 2, 1927, in Troy Township near Murray.

Georgia received her education in Clarke County and graduated from Osceola High School in the spring of 1945.

On Dec. 13, 1945, Georgia married Lowell Dean Carson in Osceola.

Over the years, Georgia worked at Snowdon’s, J.C. Penney’s, Hy-Vee and Osceola Leisure Manor as the activities director. She was a member of Osceola Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 3495. She could also be seen working alongside her husband Buck on the farm.

Georgia is survived by her sons, Larry (Linda) Carson, David (Ruby) Carson, Keith (Illa) Carson, Roger (Kim) Carson and Bob Carson, all of Osceola; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; brother Ardith (Carmen) Jones of Nevada; sisters-in-law, Louella Jones, Roberta White, Ann Phillips and Pat Carson, all of Osceola, and Janice Jones of Indianola; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Joann Root; brothers, Kenny, Harold and Ronny Jones; sisters-in-law, LaVeta Fitch, Fern Carson, Claudia Kettle, Gilda Carson and Shirley Wilson; brothers-in-law, Bill Carson, Ralph Fitch, Gene Carson, Jerry Kettle, James Carson, Gary Phillips, Lloyd Phillips and Ernie White; granddaughter Jodi Carson; and granddaughter-in-law Laurie Lynn Carson.
