Barbara Vander Linden Osceola

Barbara Vander Linden, 81, of Osceola died May 23, 2015, at Southern Hills Specialty Care.

Services were 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Osceola. The Rev. David Polich officiated. Interment was in Murray Cemetery. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Barbara Lucille Vander Linden, daughter of Bridget (Greb) and Arthur Becker, was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Barling, Ark.

In 1951, Barb married Donald Rice. Donald died shortly after their marriage.

On Nov. 26, 1952, Barb married Bernard Keith Vander Linden in Barling, Ark.

They moved to Murray, Iowa, where they raised their family.

Barb worked on the family farm. She also worked at Delta Manufacturing in Lorimor and then at Dekko in Murray until her retirement.

Barb was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and Murray American Legion Auxiliary.

Barb is survived by her daughters, Judy (Donnie) Decker and Peggy (Bruce) Shannon, all of Murray; sisters, Gladys (Steven) Hicks and Sharon (Mac) McCullough, all of Medina, Ohio, Virginia (Frank) Butler of Rudy, Ark., Reba (Buddy) Wilbanks of Mulberry, Ark., and Marilyn Hodges of Barling, Ark.; brothers, Danny Becker of Greenwood, Ark., and Mike (Donna) Becker of Fort Smith, Ark.; sisters-in-law, Yevette Becker and Carole Becker; grandchildren, Leisa (Cory) Tiede and Nikki (Chad) Bialas, all of Parkston, S.D., Crissi (Bruce) Tracy of Murray, Sherri (Jeff) Ogbourne of Mason City and Charlie Shannon of Afton; great-grandchildren, Amanda Fizer, Drew Ogbourne, Jared Tiede, Derik, Jessica, Jenna and Isaak Bialas, Mark Snyder and Copper Tracy; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Donald Rice in 1951 and second husband Keith Vander Linden in 1990; grandson Shane Fizer; great-grandsons, Eli Ogbourne and Josh Tiede; brothers, Richard, Clarence, Billy and John Becker; and sister Bernice Stepp.
