Willa Moad Osceola

Willa Marie Moad passed away peacefully on June 8, 2015 surrounded by family at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola. She was born November 7, 1957 to Clarence and Lela (George) Moad in Fort Dodge, IA.

At a young age Willa spent several years at the Woodward Resource Center and in 1978 was moved to New Hope Village in Carroll until moving to Osceola one year ago.

Willa was a special person in her own way to many people. She never knew a stranger and always greeted you with a hug. Willa enjoyed listening to gospel and country music and could often be found watching the Lawrence Welk Show or one of her many movies. She enjoyed participating in her “work” activities at New Hope along with going out to eat and her shopping trips with family.

Willa is survived by her nephew, Robert (Kathy) Moad of Chariton, IA; cousins, Suzanne (Robert) Legge of San Tan Valley, AZ; Betty Hembry of Osceola, IA; Leland “Lee” George of West Chicago, IL; Con (Karen) Smith of Fredricks, CO; Verla Kae (Dennis) Cole of Osceola; Leland “Lynn” (Lynne) George of Osceola and a close second cousin, Debbie (Scott) May of Osceola; numerous other cousins and staff members and residents at New Hope Village and Southern Hills Specialty Care.

She was preceded in death by her parents; half-brothers, Victor and Ken Moad; uncles, Carl George and Leland “Whitey” George and two infant twin aunts, Lois and Louise.

Graveside Services for the Celebration of Willa’s Life will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, IA on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
