Anna Rowena Ross, 83, of Fort Dodge died Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Leon. A rosary was held 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Slade-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 103 N.E. Mill St., in Leon with the Rev. Reinhold Kunze officiating. Burial was in Leon Cemetery in Leon.
Anna Rowena Ross, daughter of Oda Alva and Florence (Hamilton) Dale, was born April 6, 1933, at Mercer, Missouri. Following graduation from Leon High School, Rowena moved to Des Moines and worked as a secretary for a year.
She returned to Leon and married Everett Lee Ross. The family lived in Leon where she worked at O’Bryan Brothers for several years. She then spent more than 20 years working at the ASCS office in Leon. Rowena and Everett lived in Osceola from 1999 to 2010. They then moved to Newton for a year, then back to Osceola for two years before spending the past two years in Fort Dodge.
Rowena was a member of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Leon and St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Osceola.
Rowena is survived by her husband Everett Ross of Fort Dodge; children, Larry (Trish) Ross of Phoenix, Arizona, Mary Lund of Davenport and Terry (Laura) Ross of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Rowena was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Rosalee Hoke and Rita Faye Stephens; several step-brothers and a step-sister.
