Jerry Hagen Van Wert

Jerry Lee Hagen, 73, of Van Wert died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at his home.

Memorial graveside services were held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Van Wert Cemetery in Van Wert with the Rev. Dale Short officiating. Burial was in Van Wert Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established by the family.

Jerry Lee Hagen, son of Shelby Dale and Gretchen LaMae (Argabright) Hagen, was born March 31, 1943, at Lamoni. Jerry attended Popcorn Country School through the eighth grade, then Weldon for one year and Clarke Community School in Osceola until the 10th grade. He later received his GED.

In January 1962, Jerry married Sharon Petty. To this union, three sons were born, Joe, John and Jeff. The family lived in Weldon.

On Aug. 18, 1990, he married Sandra (Waltz) Woodard and they made their home in Van Wert.

Jerry is survived by his wife Sandra Hagen; sons, Joe (Jennifer) Hagen of Van Wert and Jeff Hagen of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter-in-law, Roz Hagen of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Michael Hagen (companion Cori Williamson) and Travis Hagen, all of Osceola, and Jayna Hagen of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister Sandy (Curt) Gracey of Norwalk; sister-in-law Connie Hagen of Weldon; nieces and nephews; cousins and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby in 1993 and Gretchen in 2015; son John in 1981; brother Jim in 2014 and nephew Camron Gracey in 2001.
