Cindy Ann Cooper New Virginia

Cynthia Ann Cooper, 67, of New Virginia died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola, with the Rev. Shane Simpson officiating. Visitation with family present was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at the funeral home. Cremation followed the service with burial at a later date. Cynthia Ann Cooper, daughter of Jean W. Felton and Doris Jean (Hollen) Holm, was born Sept. 23, 1948, in Osceola. Cynthia received her education at Interstate 35 High School.

On Oct. 23, 1971, she married Charles “Chuck”  Cooper at New Virginia.

Cynthia worked as a certified nursing assistant for Warren County Health Services and also for Mosaic, where she also volunteered as a client guardian for many years, retiring in 2010.

Cynthia is survived by her husband Charles “Chuck” Cooper of New Virginia; son Brian Cooper of Des Moines; daughter Raquel “Rockie” (Bob) Lundy of Osceola; daughter Tami (Donnie) Boutwell of Athens, Alabama; son Ricky (Jaque Harmon) Cooper of Indianola; mother Doris Jean Holm of Norwalk; brother Merle Felton of New Virginia; sisters, Diana McDole of New Virginia and Connie Felton of Indianola; grandchildren, Megan (Kyle Savage) Boutwell, Jaci Boutwell, Jessika (Manuel) Flores, Dilan Boutwell, Brandon (Rebecca) Lundy, Kelsi Lundy, Brooke Lundy, Jenna Lundy, Kaylee Cooper, Carson Cooper, Zoey Harmon and Annie Harmon; eight great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father Jean W. Felton, grandfather Wade Felton and grandmother Zylphia Felton.
