Thursby leaves Lakeside Hotel & Casino

Friday, April 7, was the final day on the job for Lakeside Hotel & Casino General Manager Bob Thursby. According to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Affinity Gaming, a replacement will be named in coming weeks.

There’s no word yet on what the future holds for Thursby, who came to Lakeside in Jan. 2009 after a seven-year stint at Affinity’s Mark Twain Casino in La Grange, Missouri.

“I have enjoyed working with Bob and wish him well in the future,” said Bill Trickey, executive director of the Clarke County Development Corporation (CCDC). “Managing through a bankruptcy and a change in ownership had to present him with enormous challenges. Through it all he kept a steady hand on the business.”

Affinity Gaming was aquisitioned by Z Capital Partners, L.L.C., in December 2016 after several years of slumping revenues. Other changes took place at the casino boat over the winter months, including a revamped menu and buffet selection and the introduction of new tech-based game machines.

Bogumil said Thursby is leaving Affinity on good terms.

The CCDC will continue to work with the casino in order to make the most of the gaming arrangement with the city and county.

Trickey said, “We look forward to meeting his replacement.”
