Eight girls are in the running for the 2017 Clarke County Fair Jr. Princess. The winner will be crowned 7 p.m. Monday, July 17, after the Opening Ceremonies in the Show Barn.
Presley Vanwinkle, 9, of Osceola is the daughter of Brandon and Sheri Vanwinkle.
Vanwinkle just completed the fourth grade, where she was involved in the Osceola Chargers, Honor Roll and a traveling softball team. Her other activities include having a bake sale for the animal shelter.
Vanwinkle’s hobbies include playing softball, making crafts, swimming, working with her animals and spending time with friends and family.
Alexandria Bundridge, 6, of Murray is the daughter of Jerry and April Bundridge.
Bundridge just completed Kindergarten. Her activities include Murray Clover Kids, Girl Scouts, Vacation Bible School Murray Church of Christ, Tumbling Competition Team at Leslie’s Dance, clogging, TaeKwonDo at Henry’s Martial Arts, summer T-ball, fall soccer in Murray, swimming, riding bikes, playing with and making new friends and going to Olive Garden.
Alyssa Kent, 9, of Lucas is the daughter of Shad and Heather Kent.
Kent just completed fourth grade, where she was involved in the Cooking Club, Osceola Chargers 4-H club and summer camp. Her other activities include softball, theater, the cancer walk and taking part in library programs. Kent’s hobbies include art, acting, softball, showing cattle around the area, taking care of her horse and rabbit, and raising and showing pigs and cows.
Taylor Kent, 6, of Lucas is the daughter of Shad and Heather Kent.
Kent just completed Kindergarten, where she was involved in 4-H Clover Kids. Her other activities include the Osceola Children’s Theater and the Clarke County Fair. Kent’s hobbies include T-ball, soccer, playing babies and playing with her sister.
Paisley Vanwinkle, 7, of Osceola is the daughter of Brandon and Sheri Vanwinkle.
Vanwinkle just completed the first grade, where she was involved in 4-H Clover KIds. Her hobbies include softball, spending time with her animals, swimming and Clover Kids.
Gracie Mathes, 7, of Murray is the daughter of Zachary and Marti Mathes.
Mathes just completed first grade, where she was involved in Koolios Clover Kids. Her other activities include gymnastics and Sunday School. Mathes’ hobbies include being outside with her dog Timber and rabbit Everst, helping her Pa and Aunt Shelby with the cattle, riding 4-wheelers, players with her sister Hadley, drawing and swimming.
Danika McCloney, 9, of New Virginia is the daughter of Ashley McCloney.
McCloney just completed the third grade, where she was involved in Pee-Wee Cheerleading and helps tutor summer school students. Her other activities include Osceola Children’s Theater, Clover Kids, Girls Scouts, softball, Southern Iowa Hive Handlers and Toys for Tots. McCloney’s hobbies include theatre, singing, dancing, art, reading, photography, writing, songwriting, travel, gardening, being outdoors, playing with animals, going to concerts and helping people.
Maizy Irving, 8, of Woodburn is the daughter of Rick and Haylee Irving.
Irving just completed second grade, where she was involved in the Fremont Feenix 4-H Club. Her other activities include dance, clogging, hip hop and jazz, and Osceola Girl Scouts. Irving’s hobbies include doing chores with her dad, taking care of animals and taking part in mommy-daughter days.
