CRESTON — An odd mix up led the Clarke girls top two golfers competing in uncertain circumstances Friday at Creston’s Crestmoor Golf Club.
Sadie and Sidney Marker had a mix-up with their clubs, which were left in their brother’s car, as they were forced to play with clubs provided by assistant coach Walker Adams.
Sidney bested Sadie with near identical scores of 59 and 60, but Creston/Orient-Macksburg bested Clarke 181 strokes to 244.
Seeing Elayna Irving and Mady Hill and Erin Silzer in the low 60’s was a point of positivity for Adams.
“Mady is getting in the groove again. She had an injury and she’s building and coming back from that,” Adams said.
“With Erin and Elayna out there, it’s just a matter of getting out on the course, playing some golf and getting comfortable. They just need the reps is the big thing.”
