Marilyn Jean Snell, daughter of Herman Waugh and Irene May (Carson) Waugh was born February 9, 1933 in Clarke County, Iowa and passed from this life Sunday, September 29, 2019 at her home at Homestead Assisted Living in Osceola, Iowa at 86 years of age.

Marilyn attended rural school, North Star and Victor in Clarke County, she graduated from Osceola High School in 1951. She was united in marriage to Robert Snell on August 7, 1953 in Osceola, Iowa and three children blessed this union, Michael, Melinda, and Merrill.

Marilyn worked at General Telephone Company, McCann Tax Services and The Advertiser. Marilyn belonged to the Osceola United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women.

Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved having family together and enjoying all their activities. Robert and Marilyn enjoyed traveling and taking many bus trips. They attended World’s Fairs, traveled the United States and Canada and many trips to Branson. She enjoyed her activities with the Pink Ladies and her time of volunteering with the Osceola United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Irene Waugh.

Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory; loving husband of 66 years, Robert Snell of Osceola, IA, son, Michael (Martha) Snell of Osceola, IA, daughter, Melinda (Roger) Stephenson of Blue Springs, MO, son, Merrill (Melissa) Snell of Osceola, IA, grandchildren, Kari (Robert) Austin of Homer, Alaska, Jaclyn (Scott) Whitlock of Grain Valley, MO, Matthew (Stephanie) Snell of Osceola, IA, Marie (Justin) Morrison of Urbandale, IA, Megan (Jose) Martinez of Des Moines, IA, Macey Snell of Ankeny, IA, 10 great-grandchild, Connor, Abigail, Alyeska and Eden Austin, Scarlett Strampher, Jaxen Whitlock, and Whittney Snell, Colin and Caleb Morrison and Milo Martinez, several nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Wednesday October 2, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Amy Johnson officiating.

The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m.—10:30 am Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Kale Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery
