Danny Gray

Danny Edwin Gray, son of Charles Elmer Gray I and Ruby Elizabeth Porter Gray was born October 26, 1938 in Clarke County, IA and passed from this life Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines at 81 years of age.

Danny received his education in Murray, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Caroline Genne Ward on July 14, 1957 at Grand River, Iowa and two children, Danny, Jr. and Beverly blessed this union.

Danny spent his lifetime tending to the land which he truly loved as well as his livestock of which he gave each a special name. He also loved the Lord; enjoyed old country music and he most especially loved his family.

Those relatives who preceded Danny in death were his parents;  wife, Caroline Genne Gray;  brothers, Charles E. Gray II and David Gray;  brothers-in-law, Roger Hamilton, and Donald Vanderflught.

Danny leaves to cherish his memory; son, Danny (Renita) Gray, Jr. of Leon, IA;  daughter, Beverly (Rodney) Thompson of Harrah, OK; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Travis) Brant of New Virginia, IA;  granddaughter, Brandi (Glenn) Oesch of Leon, IA;  granddaughter, Bobbie (Rick) Gwinn of Indianola, IA;  granddaughter, Daniell (Mike) Dyer of Leon, IA; great-grandchildren, Dakota Fry, Dillen Jones, Peyton Fry, Fontana Furgison and Seth Dyer; sister, Joan Throckmorton of AZ; sisters-in-law, Beth Gray of Winterset, IA, Rea Gray of Grand River, IA, Mary Hamilton of Prole, IA, sister-in-law, Hazel Vanderflught of Grand River, IA as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held at Decatur Cemetery, Monday December 2, 2019 at 1:30 pm with Dale Short officiating.

Visitation will be open Monday and  the family will greet friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday, December 2, 2019 at Kale Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Decatur Cemetery
