This year, CCOPS has granted $5,000.00 to the Mrs. Clause Legacy. This organization assists in buying toys and food to families in need so that they can to have a good Christmas.
For Halloween, CCOPS participated with the Osceola Chamber Main Street’s Trunk or Treat. This event was a big hit with the kids, with nearly 1,000 people there in attendance.
In November, CCOPS tackled the issue of food insecurity. On November 6th, CCOPS members helped unload a truck load of food for the Murray Church of Christ food pantry. In addition, CCOPS held a food drive in November. We received a HUGE donation from Osceola Foods of four pallets of food donations for our local pantries. The community also pitched in and donated several non-perishable food items. Donations were distributed to the Murray Church of Christ Food Pantry, the Osceola Full Gospel Church Food Pantry, and the Clarke Schools Food Pantry.
On December 4th, CCOPS members shopped at Walmart for kids in Clarke County with the Toys for Christmas program. After a fun and exciting shopping expedition the CCOPS members packed up all the toys and gifts and took them to the Clarke County Senior Center to be distributed to the families in need.
Finally, on December 14, CCOPS members helped with Shop with a Cop. Our student volunteers worked with the kids and local law enforcement to wrap presents. The CCOPS team has had a great year and is looking forward to 2020.
Happy Holidays from CCOPS to you!
