Elaine White

Elaine Marie White, daughter of Lester Wetzel and Helen (Smith) Wetzel was born March 15th, 1938 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 at University Hospital in West Chester, Ohio at 81 years of age.

Elaine grew up on a farm near Osceola and moved to Osceola with her parents, transferring, from Truro H.S. to Osceola H.S. in her junior year of high school. She graduated from O.H.S. with the class of 1956.

She worked at Clarke Co. State Bank until she was united in marriage with Thomas B. White on August 18th, 1957 at the Osceola Methodist Church.

Elaine moved to Rapid City, S.D. with husband Tom and worked at a Rapid City bank until, after Toms graduation from college, the family moved to Rockford, Ill. where Tom worked for Sundstrand aviation for 6 years. Elaine and Tom were busy with 4 children during this time when Elaine and family moved to Forest Park, Ohio briefly while locating and purchasing a farm near Mason, Ohio where they raised their family.

Elaine leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 62 years, Tom; daughters; Susan (Lydell) Frasch of O’Fallon, Mo.; Sandra (Perry) Wright of SanTan Valley, Az; Sharon (John) Crist of Monroe, Ohio; and son William (Bill) White of Lebanon, Ohio. Seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother and sister in law Robert and Marie (Gardner) White; niece Brenda (Donnie) White; and many cousins and friends.

Elaine and Tom enjoyed the Smith, Wetzel and Burgess family reunions when they could attend.

Elaine dedicated her life to God and family. She felt blessed by her family. She was strengthened by her faith and Bible study. She shared her faith in many ways including letters that are considered treasured gifts by family and friends.

Services will be scheduled privately by the family.
