Sharon Fitzgerald

Sharon Lynne Fitzgerald, daughter of Cleo J. Parsons and Amilee (Cleverly) Parsons was born January 4, 1942 in Kellogg, Iowa and passed from this life Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at her home in Chandler, Arizona at 78 years of age.

Sharon received her education in Newton, Iowa where she graduated from Newton High School. She was united in marriage to Larry Jay Fitzgerald on April 25, 1969 at the Truro Methodist Church and shortly after their marriage she and Larry began farming full time.

Sharon also worked for many years cooking at the Interstate-35 schools. After she and Larry moved to Arizona, Sharon continued working with the school system in Scottsdale.

Sharon enjoyed her time on the farm where she raised a large garden. She was involved in many activities at the school where she used her love of cooking to its fullest.  many of her most treasured times were spent with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Those relatives who preceded Sharon in death were her parents; husband, Larry; mother-in-law, Lavina Maxine Fitzgerald; father-in-law, Arthur Fitzgerald and her brothers, Leo and Bryce Parsons.

Sharon leaves to cherish her memory; children, Randy (Kim) Townsend of Winterset, IA, Kirk Townsend of Bullhead City, AZ, Laura (Curt) Guest of Chandler, AZ, PJ Fitzgerald of Truro, IA ; grandchildren, Megan (Tim) Stelter of Clive, IA, Tara Townsend of CA, Haley Townsend of CA, Graydon Guest of Chandler, AZ, and Wyatt Fitzgerald of Truro, IA. She is also survived by her great-grandchild, Collins Stelter as well as other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Saturday February 29, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Marty Burgus officiating.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2020 at Kale Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Field Cemetery, Clarke County, Iowa
