Jared Griffin

Jared Joe Griffin was born November 5, 1943 in St. Anthony, Idaho and died July 21, 2020 at his home near Woodburn. He was a 1962 graduate of Clarke Community High School where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams. Jared joined the Air Force in 1964 and served four years, including a deployment to Vietnam. After returning to Osceola he worked for Andrews Construction Company until his father passed away in 1974. At that point he took over the family farm as well as working part time at the Osceola Veterinary Clinic and the Humeston Sale Barn. After retiring from farming he continued working at the Osceola Veterinary Clinic in a full-time position until the time of his death.

He was predeceased by his parents, George “Woody” Griffin and Wilma Trupp Griffin, brother Michael Griffin, brother-in-law Ron Houghton and nephew Robert Allen. He is survived by his sisters Shanna Cellman (Terry) of Cedar Rapids, Cheryl Allen (Lee) of Hilltop Lakes, TX, E’Lyn Houghton of Temecula, CA and Sharane Brown (Roger) of Des Moines. He is also survived by 5 nephews, 4 nieces, 10 great nephews and 8 great nieces.

Due to the Covid pandemic a private graveside service will be held for the immediate family.
