Clarke Middle School Solo and Ensemble Contest results

On Thursday, February 24, 2022, many Clarke 7th and 8th Grade Band Members opted to participatein the Clarke Solo and Ensemble Festival. These band members rehearsed their musical selections with their band teacher, Christie Stortenbecker, and then performed their pieces for a judge. This year, the judge was Brad Lampe, former Clarke High School BandDirector and retired Clarke Instructional Coach. He listened to all of the performances and offered positive feedback to each student, as well as suggestions for improvement. Band members earned a rating based upon their performance. After the festival, eachperformer also received a written ballot from the judge and an award ribbon. At the end of the evening, Mr. Lampe recognized the outstanding performers of the festival. These special awards were given to Emily Glenn for her 8thgrade trumpet solo, Abbi Nash for her 8th grade snare drum solo, and Casey Wade for his 8th grade alto saxophonesolo. The ratings for all of the participants are included below.
