Each year, Art Educators of Iowa and the Iowa Arts Council host a juried show to celebrate Youth Art Month, a nationwide event held in March to emphasize the importance of art and arts education. Teachers who are members of AEI can select up to ten artworks to represent their schools at the state level.

Artworks from all ten Clarke students were submitted for judging in January, and five students had their work accepted into the prestigious 2025 Youth Art Month Show. Congratulations to Janie Antoine (12th), Rachel Jaurigue (12th), Jacob Abma (10th), Emmanuel Gomez-Corona (9th), and Stephy Leyva Rodriguez (9th) on this incredible achievement! Their artwork will be displayed alongside over 100 other pieces of student art from across Iowa.

The Youth Art Month Show will be featured at Jordan Creek Mall in Des Moines (top level near Finish Line and Von Maur) from March 1–29.

If you’re in Des Moines, make sure to stop by and see these talented students’ work, along with some of the finest K–12 artwork from across the state. Let’s celebrate their creativity and hard work!
