Darlene Little, daughter of Verlin and Evelyn Woodard was born May 13, 1933 in rural Clarke County, Iowa and passed from this life Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at 87 years of age. Darlene received her education at Osceola, High School.
She was united in marriage to Norman Little on November 2, 1958 in Greenfield, Iowa, and two children, Debra and Eugene blessed this union.
Darlene moved to Des Moines, right after graduating from high school and worked at Iowa Home Mutual for a number of years.
Darlene and Norman made their home on a farm near Murray. She was a farm wife raising their two children and helping out wherever needed. She enjoyed her garden and especially loved her flower garden and especially her iris and her peonies that would bloom every spring.
In the later years when Grandchildren and especially Great- Grandchildren came along, she thoroughly enjoyed them coming to visit. She cared deeply about family and always wanted to make sure everyone was getting along okay.
Those relatives who preceded Darlene in death were her husband Norman Little, father, Verlin Woodard, mother Evelyn Woodard and step-mother Etola Woodard, sister Delores Eggers, brother- in-law Bill Gonseth, brother-in-law Fred Poil.
Darlene leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Debra (Mike) Anderson, son, Eugene (Judy) Little, both of rural Murray. grandchildren, Melissa Torres, of Murray, IA, Lindsay Peterson of Nevada, IA, Cody (Prairie) Anderson of Murray, IA, Daniel Little of rural Murray, IA, great grandchildren, Augustus and Charlotte Peterson of Nevada, IA, Dominic Torres of rural Murray, IA, sisters, Deleath Gonseth of Osceola, IA Doris (Terry) McClure of Rogers, AR, Donna Poil of Osceola, IA, Dixie (Dean) Shike of Greenfield, IA, brother-in-law, Ivan Eggers of Des Moines, IA, as well as other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at Kale Funeral Home, Tuesday April 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Marty Burgus officiating.
Family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2021 at Kale Funeral Home.
The use of face coverings at either event are REQUIRED. If you are unable to attend the service in person, a live stream will be available at www.kalefuneralhome.com on Dorothy’s tribute wall beginning at 11 a.m., Tuesday.
Interment will be in the Murray Cemetery
