Rylon Todd Cook, son of Todd Eugene Cook and Christina Lynn Mongar Cook was born May 25, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA and passed from this life Saturday May 29, 2021 at Blank Children’s Hospital at 15 years of age.
Rylon was a student at Murray High School and had just finished his freshman year.
Rylon was all boy. He loved to hunt, fish and go shed antler hunting with his dad. He had a great interest in cars and trucks, riding four wheelers and go carts, playing games on his Xbox and cruising around with his friends. His pride and joy was his derby car that he built with his cousins, uncles and buddies. In the last few months, Rylon became very close to and loved spending time with his girlfriend, Brooklynn Eggers.
Those relatives who preceded Rylon in death were his sister, Madison Makenna Cook, grandfathers, Dale Kistler and Chris McGuire, great-grandparents, Richard Sr. and Marilyn Cook, Thomas and Vyrlee Britt, Robert Mongar, Arnim and Lila McGuire, step-great-grandfather, Frank Townsend.
Rylon leaves to cherish his memory; father, Todd Eugene Cook of Van Wert, IA, mother, Christina Lynn Cook (Josh Tripp) of Murray, IA, brother, Remington (Madison) Cook of Jacksonville, NC, brother, Keaton Brammer of Murray, IA, newborn niece, Riverlynn Makenna Cook, grandfather, Bryan Mongar of Osceola, IA, grandmother Mary Kistler of Thayer, IA, grandmother Diane (Dean) Allen of Van Wert, IA, uncle, Shad (Lesley) Cook of Leon, IA, aunt, Lorena (Mike) Conner of Murray, IA, uncle, Shane (Jessica) Mongar of Murray, IA, uncle, Curtis (Kristine) Mongar of Murray, IA, aunt, Stacia Mongar (Justin Brown) of Clearfield, IA, aunt, Savannah (Dylan) Flowers of Thayer, IA, uncle, Justin Mongar (Gabby Burdess) of Grand River, IA, uncle, Joshua Mongar (Hailey Weirick) of Osceola, IA, his best friends and cousins, Kane and Gauge Mongar, as well as many other cousins, relatives and many friends.
Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home, Thursday June 3, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chuck DeVos officiating.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Kale Funeral Home.
Social distancing and the use of face coverings are recommended at both events. If you are unable to attend the service in person, a live stream will be available at www.kalefuneralhome.com on Rylon’s tribute wall beginning at 11 a.m., Thursday.
Interment will be in the Van Wert Cemetery
