Mark Daniel Crawford was born November 17, 1958, to James (Jim) Crawford and Effie Crawford in Clarke County, Iowa and passed away from this life at the age of 62 on Friday, June 4th, 2021, at the family home in Osceola, Iowa.
Mark enjoyed learning to hunt and fish. His Dad, Jim and brother, Mitch had many years of sharing hunting at “Dad’s Farm”. Growing up, Mark enjoyed wrestling and playing the trumpet in the High School Band. He was listed as “Who is Who” among music students. He also loved playing tennis and foosball and excelled at both.
Mark attended Southwestern Community College and Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. He worked a variety of jobs beginning with bagging groceries at Hy-Vee. He sold insurance after college and was the youngest person elected to the Board of Directors in this position.
In November 1981, Mark and Brenda German were married in Murray, Iowa. To this union three sons were born, Chad Michael, Ryan Daniel and Dustin Marc Crawford. Their son Ryan died shortly after birth. Mark loved Chad and Dustin dearly.
He made time each year to vacation at Lake Kabetogama where they all enjoyed eating the Walleye that was caught and eating the blueberries they found. There was always a rivalry over who caught the biggest and most Northern Pike. In recent years he enjoyed also taking his grandchildren with him to Kabetogama.
Mark leaves to cherish his memory, Mother, Effie Crawford of Osceola, Iowa. Son, Chad Crawford and wife Stormy of Osceola, Son, Dustin Crawford and wife Savannah of Osceola, Brother, Mitchell Crawford and wife Linda of Kimberling City, MO. Mark had four Grandchildren, Chase Crawford, Haylee Reynolds, Conrad Crawford and Lily Crawford. Nephew, Sean Crawford and Niece, Mandi Crawford and many other relatives and friends.
Those relatives who preceded Mark in death were his Father, James (Jim) Crawford and infant Son, Ryan Crawford.
Visitation will be held Thursday June 10, 2021, from 6-8 pm. Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home Friday, June 11, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Marty Burgus officiating. Graveside service to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, Iowa.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
