Colleen Antisdel

Colleen Antisdel, 78, of Creston, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, at her home. A Celebration of Life service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Avenue in Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate the service, visitation with family receiving friends will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. before the service.

Burial will be in Carl Cemetery, north of Corning at a later date. Memorials are to be established in Colleen’s name. Online condolences may be given at the tribute wall at www.powersfh.com.

Colleen Marie (Brown) Antisdel, daughter of Marvin C. Brown and Fern Mildred (Silverthorn) Brown, was born Dec. 17, 1942, in Osceola. She was educated in Murray schools. After the death of her mother, Marvin married Lois Leinard, and Lois was instrumental in Colleen’s life.

On July 27, 1960, Colleen married Jack Lynn Antisdel in Murray. They settled and lived on a farm northwest of Creston, all of their married life. Colleen helped on the farm then later worked at Bunn-O-Matic until her retirement in 2005.

In their early years of marriage, Colleen and Jack square danced and spent many nights playing cards with friends and family. Colleen also bowled in several leagues. Her favorite pastimes were having all her grandkids at the farm and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa State Cyclones.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Antisel of Creston; six daughters: Tammy (Ron) Martin, Teresa (Bill) Hoepker and Tawnya (Darren) Jones, all of Creston, Tori (Jeremy) Larsen of Mount Ayr, Treana (Chad) Briley and Trista Bryant, both of Creston;

Seventeen grandchildren: Nikki (Ross) Rinehart, Calli (Joe) Martin, Lucas Martin, Jacob (Jessica) Hoepker, Joey Hoepker, Jenny (Casey) Purdum, Matthew Jones, Valerie (Jacob) Demastus, Jack (Elise) Jones, Jordan (Caitlyn) Larsen, Macy (Levi) Jarred, Zoey Larsen, Katlin (Seth) Duff, Bryce (Marissa) Briley, Taylor (Casey) Briley, Brandon Briley and Kaleb Timmsen;

Fifteen great-grandchildren: Rumor and Koy Rinehart, Gavin and Hazel Martin, Gretchen and Daphne Hoepker, Jace, Hadley Ryleigh and Jolie Purdum, Rylynn and Brantley Morrison, Laurel Larsen, Wade Jarred and Benjamin Duff; brother, Gerald (Carolee) Brown; four sisters: Caroletta Humphreys, Carolyn (Stan) Selsor, Jeanette Sitzman and Janet Ritter; a sister-in-law, Cathryn Holker; two brothers-in-law, Ray (Shari) Antisdel and Bill (Jan) Antisdel; many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Lawrence and Opal Antisdel; her step-mother, Lois Brown; a brother, Floyd Brown; two brothers-in-law, Dan Sitzman and Paul Ritter; two nephews, Dan Holker and Floyd Brown Jr.; and great niece and nephew, Pearl and Bert Conard.
