Keith Heston

Keith Owen Heston, son of Lloyd and Ruth (Marquis) Heston was born June 25, 1939, in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Thursday, December 30, 2021 at MercyOne Johnston Hospice Care in Johnston, Iowa at 82 years of age.

Keith’s mother died at his birth; his father died when Keith was a teenager. Keith’s grandparents helped raise him. He attended country school in his early years and graduated from Woodburn High School. Keith has lived his life on his family farm, which he has help build over many years. He worked as a farm hand for Eldon Graves, Kent White, and Glen Powell as a young man. Farming and helping other farmers has been a large part of Keith’s life. Keith was united in marriage to Janice Kay Israel on September 18, 1960, in Lucas, Iowa, they were married by Janice’s grandfather, and three sons blessed this union, Lloyd Ronald, Mark Owen and John Israel.

Keith was a hardworking, loving, and caring family man. His family was very important to him, enjoying family get togethers, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing practical jokes and enjoying family times. Keith was always there to help a neighbor if he was needed. He had a “get it done” attitude when he set his mind to something.

Keith was a Charter member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 3495. He was very active with the many charities supported by the Eagles, traveling to many meeting and becoming lifelong friends with Eagles members across the country. Keith enjoyed dancing, roller skating (where he met Janice), antique tractors, traveling, coffee with friends and going to the boat to eat. He was a very caring man that will be greatly missed.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Ruth Heston and grandparents, Elsie and Roy J. Heston.

Keith leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Janice, whom he had a very loving and caring married life of 61 years; son, Lloyd Ronald Heston of Ankeny, IA, son, Mark Owen (Michelle) Heston of Woodburn, IA, son, John Israel Heston of Woodburn, IA, grandchildren, Hayley (Steven Jones) Heston, Kelsey (Dan) Crandell, Ashley Heston, Shelby (Zach) Jones, Lindsey McDonald, Christopher Heston, Michael Heston, great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Alexander, Owen, Charlotte, Israel, Ramona, and upcoming great grandchild, Sophia as well as other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Saturday January 8, 2022 at 7 p.m. with Pastor Chuck DeVos officiating.

Visitation will be open after 1 p.m. Saturday with Keith’s family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. prior to the services on Saturday.

Cremation will follow the services.
