Jerry Bruce Cole, son of Russell Francis Cole and Lois Mae (Davidson) Cole was born July 25, 1938 in Fairbury, Nebraska and passed from this life Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa at 83 years of age.
Jerry graduated from Belleville High School in Belleville, Kansas, he attended college in Fairbury, NE. Jerry was united in marriage to Alyce Lou Sydow on January 24, 1961 in Fairbury, NE and two children blessed this union, Doug and Cami. Jerry and Alyce lived many years in Arvada, Colorado before moving to Mesquite, Nevada, then to Indianola, Iowa.
Jerry was a meat cutter for over 30 years with King Soopers Grocery in Denver. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Arvada for many many years, completing all the chairs to the position of Exalted Ruler. Later Jerry transferred to Mesquite. The Elks brotherhood was a very important part of Jerry’s life. Jerry enjoyed playing pool, bocce ball, and pickle ball, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, trap shooting in early years. Jerry was a sports fan, living in Denver he was a Bronco’s Season ticket holder for over 25 years. He enjoyed RVing with Alyce and they enjoyed taking walks and Country dancing “Boot Scootin” when ever they could. Jerry has been a member of the United Methodist Church in Mesquite, Nevada for many years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Lois Cole.
He leaves to cherish his memory; loving wife of over 60 years, Alyce Cole, son, Doug (Gigi) Cole of Gillette, WY, daughter, Cami (Todd) Thompson of Osceola, IA, grandsons, Adam Thompson of Osceola, IA, Travis Thompson of Osceola, IA, sister, Roxene (Bob) Cacak of Salem, OR as well as other relatives and many friends.
Jerry’s family will be present to visit with friends from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.
Funeral services will be held at Kale Funeral Home, Friday January 14, 2022 at 2 p.m. with Amy Johnson officiating.
