Lori Ann Kirk, daughter of Gary Duane Eginoire and Marilyn Marie Burns Eginoire was born October 15, 1959 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Sunday, December 26, 2021, surrounded by her family at her home in rural Peru, Iowa at 62 years of age after a courageous and gracious battle with breast cancer.
Lori received her education in Afton, Iowa where she graduated from East Union High School in 1978. She was united in marriage to Jeffery Wayne Kirk, April 11, 1981 and two children Nicole and Ryan blessed this union.
Lori went to work for Wayne O’ Burchett Agency in Murray, Iowa in 1987, quickly gaining the attention as an adept understudy. She made the decision to attend AIB College of Business in Des Moines, Iowa as a young mother to advance her career, setting an early example of hard work and perseverance for her children. She eventually bought the agency in 1998, operating it as the Kirk Agency until her retirement in 2021. Lori worked tirelessly for her clients, even throughout her illness.
Lori loved spending time with friends, shopping and traveling. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico was her self-described “happy place.” But, most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them in their sporting events. She may have needed to be reminded from time to time that they did not indeed possess professional level talent and that it was best to use inside voices.
Her laughter lit up a room. Her generosity and grace inspired everyone who knew her. She worked harder than anyone we’ve ever known, right up until the end. She inspired every person who knew her to do and be better. She loved dirty martinis.
Those relatives who preceded Lori in death were her father, Gary Duane Eginore; father-in-law, Benjamin Wayne Kirk and mother-in-law, Sandra Sue Kirk.
Lori is survived by, husband, Jeff Kirk of Peru, daughter, Nicole Pealer (Thad) of Lees Summit, MO; son, Ryan Kirk (Dani Bauer) of Peru, IA; grandchildren, Harper Pealer, Elle Pealer, Gracie Kirk and Jack Kirk; Mother, Marilyn Needham of Lincoln, NE; siblings, Steven Eginoire (Kathy) of Leawood, KS, Merry Lynn Klonower (Mark) of Austin, TX and Linda Haun (Steve) of Lincoln, NE; sister-in-law, Sherry Stuart (Jim) of New Virginia, IA as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and too many friends to list.
