Mike German

Michael Lee German, son of Harvey Gene German and Mary Ann Campbell German was born June 21, 1962, in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at 59 years of age.

Mike received his education at Murray High School graduating in 1980. After graduation he attended Northwest Missouri State University.

He was united in marriage to Kris Mateer in May of 1989 at the First Christian Church in Osceola, IA. Throughout his life Mike worked as a foreman in heavy construction, installed siding for many years with his dad and brother Gene and more recently worked as a staffing manager for Spherion and Crown Services employment agencies.

Mike was an avid sports fan, especially college football, basketball and professional baseball. In early years, he enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and softball as well as Pop Warner Football. He loved his time with family, a good conversation, making people laugh, helping people in need whenever possible and would never pass up a BBQ! He played all types of card games with family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed watching any movie with Audie Murphy, westerns, 80′s tv and sometimes jokingly would say he sang like Alan Jackson.

Those relatives who preceded Mike in death were his father, Harvey German, Sr.; son, Zachary Scott German; nephew, Ryan Daniel Crawford; grandfather, Winfred Floyd German; grandmother, Eva Pearl German; grandfather, James Campbell; grandmother, Veretta Campbell.

Mike leaves to cherish his memory, mother, Mary Ann German of Osceola, IA.; son, Ryan German of Des Moines, IA.; daughter, Kylie German of Osceola, IA.; daughter, Morgan Cline of Leon, IA.; brother, Gene German of Osceola, IA.; sister, Brenda Di Santi (John) of Branson West, Mo.; brother, Mark German(Tess) of Binghamton, NY.; sister, Penny Moon (Rich) of El Dorado Springs, MO.; sister, Jodi Briggs (Lonnie) of Linn Creek, MO.; sister Teresa Hagen (Matt) of Osceola, IA.; granddaughter, Jayde Cline of Leon, IA.; granddaughter, Paisley German, Osceola, IA.; aunt, Joyce Garrett of Osceola, IA.; uncle Johnny (Barb) Campbell of Springdale, AR.; uncle, Bob Campbell of LeRoy, MN.; aunt, Betty Becker of Mitchellville, IA.; aunt, Jane Campbell of Springdale, AR.; niece, Tiffany Battani; niece, Ashley German; nephew, Chad (Stormy)Crawford; nephew, Dustin (Savannah) Crawford; nephew, Austin German; niece, Sydney German; nephew, Alex Moon; niece, Abby Moon; nephew, Dalton Halls; niece, Jordyn Halls; nephew, Isaac Welcher (Chelsea); nephew, Evan Hagen; niece, Ava Hagen; niece, Fancy Hagen; niece, Frankie Hagen as well as many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home, Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Marty Burgus officiating.

The family will greet friends from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022.
