Edith Smith

Edith Jacqueline Smith, daughter of Herbert C Haiar and Ruth M (Boyke) Haiar was born August 14, 1944 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and passed from this life Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at 77 years of age.

She was united in marriage to Stephen Wayne Smith on September 29, 1995 at Osceola, Iowa.

Edie was a line worker for Osceola Foods for 15 years. She has lived in Osceola since 1995 and Seattle, Wa and Aurora, IL before coming to Osceola.

She was a member of the Osceola Eagles Auxiliary #3495 and United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, fishing and computer games. She enjoyed it when they went camping and would sit around the campfire.

Those relatives who preceded Edie in death were her parents, Herbert and Ruth; sister, Marlene Green; brother, Don Haiar.

Edie leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Stephen Smith of Osceola, IA; sons, Greg (Theresa) Halmagya of Sandwich, IL, Joey Halmagya of Ames, IA; daughter, Stacy Halmagya of Aurora, IL, 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Alice Rueland of Aurora, IL, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Cremation was entrusted to Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
