Brian Irving

Brian Irving, 44 of Chariton, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 in Corydon, Iowa.

Brian Keith Irving was born on October 18, 1977 to Rick and Donna (Smith) Irving in Chariton, Iowa. He attended Osceola High School, graduating in 1996. Brian worked at the HyVee Distribution Center in the perishable building for almost 25 years. On April 19, 2011, he married Amanda Nickell and to this union, two children were born: Kolton and Kynlee.

Brian was an avid outdoorsman, always up for finding ways to spend more time in nature. Camping trips, hunting and fishing expeditions, or a fun day searching for arrowheads is how he liked to spend his time. Brian was a big fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, but he was an even bigger fan of his kids - he absolutely adored them.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Amanda Irving, his children Kolton and Kynlee Irving, brother Ricky Irving (Haylee), sister Dana Irving (Traer Johnson), parents Rick and Donna Irving, grandmother Mary Ann Irving, numerous extended family, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Brian is preceded in death by his grandpa Richard “Dick” Irving, grandparents Victor and Beverly Smith, and father-in-law Dennis Nickell.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon with Pastor Melanie Halferty officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service, from 10–11 a.m. Memorials may be given to Brian’s children, Kolton and Kynlee, in care of Amanda Irving, and can be made at Corydon State Bank in Corydon.
