Monty Charles “Jake” Grimm of Rogers, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at the age of 88.
Born to Charles and Bernice (Woods) Grimm of Woodburn, Iowa, Monty graduated from Woodburn High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1957 aboard the USS Cony. Following his honorable discharge in 1961, Monty worked for the Ford Motor Company in Des Moines where he met Marjory Van Billiard. The two were married August 8, 1959 and had three children. A hard worker, Monty farmed in the Woodburn area and worked at the Ford plant until the family moved to Rogers, Arkansas in 1979. Monty worked for the Army Corps of Engineers until retiring in 1994.
Monty enjoyed cars, tractors, NASCAR, and making a good deal on just about anything, even if he didn’t need it. He and Marge enjoyed being “snowbirds” in Apache Junction, Arizona. They loved playing cards and games with family and friends.
Monty’s legacy is carried on by his wife of 62 years, Marge; his three children: Kim Grimm of Bentonville, Arkansas, Brent Grimm of Bentonville, Arkansas, Beth (Vincent) Aiello of Coronado, California; five grandchildren: Courtney (Eric) Brewer, Brandon (Erica) Major, Slater, Anthony, and Dawson Aiello; and five great grandchildren: Kolby Young, Kya and Declan Brewer, Aiden Wooten and Teagan Major as well as many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Kale’s Funeral Home on Saturday February 19, 2022 at 10 a.m.
Chuck Devos will officiate services at 11 a.m. followed by a burial service at Maple Hill Cemetery.
