Howard Robinson, Sr.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Howard Glenn Robinson Sr., age 65, of Osceola, Iowa. Howard passed from this life on August 20, 2022 at his daughter’s home surrounded by his family after a hard fought battle with cancer.

The family of Howard held a Celebration of life this past weekend at the Eagles lodge and requested that any donations made in Howard’s honor go to the Clarke County Animal Shelter.

Howard was born in Wilmington, Delaware, in 1956 to Albert Millard Robinson Sr. and Annie Lorena “Lorraine” Blake.

He grew up in Delaware where he entered the workforce young changing tires for his father. He moved to Iowa at the age of 27 where he met the love of his life a year later and started a family of his own. He lived the rest of his life in Iowa.

He worked a few odd jobs over his younger years until he found his true calling which was custom construction and finishing custom concrete. He did both until he became disabled and could no longer do so.

Howard enjoyed animals and loved his many pets over the years, cats and dogs. He enjoyed riding and building motorcycles, working on and restoring older cars and trucks, fishing, camping, swimming, watching old westerns, and drawing old cars. What Howard loved more than all of that was his family. He loved to spend time with his wife, children, and especially his grandchildren. His grandchildren were his very favorite thing in life. He was loved very deeply by his family as well.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents, sons Levi and Jesse Robinson; father-in-law Leonard “Deano” Husted; sisters Carolyn Hayes, Peggy Myers, and Ethel “Robbie” Penick; brother Albert Robinson Jr; and nephew Donald Hayes.

Howard is survived by his wife of 37 years Jeanette (Husted) Robinson; daughter Brandi (Michael) Ridley; sons Drew Robinson and Howard Jr. (Madison) Robinson; Grandchildren Jayda Durham-Ridley, Avianna Robinson, Jaliyah Ridley, Aliza Robinson, and Jesse Ridley; mother-in-law Edna Hoch; Brother-in-law Darcy (Marcy) Hoch; Brother-in-law Michael Penick; numerous nieces and nephews all over the east coast and many many more friends and family.
