Dorotha Willene Foland, daughter of Clarence E. Neff and Ethel Mae Delong was born October 4, 1919 in Clarke County, Iowa and passed from this life Monday, September 12, 2022 at Southern Hills Specialty Care at 102 years of age.
Dorotha received her education in Osceola, Iowa where she graduated from Osceola High School. She also received her Normal Teachers Training and began her teaching career at an early age until her marriage.
She was united in marriage to Arben C. Foland on June 26, 1940 at Indianola, IA and two children, Ardith Lendell and Dwayne blessed this union.
In later years, following her marriage, Dorotha worked as a Clerk at Paul’s Clothing for many years in Osceola. She was involved in her community where she was a member of YM Club; Mizpah Chapter DOC; Beta Sigma Phi, Laureate Tau Chapter; Osceola Eagles Auxiliary; Thursday Morning Coffee Group; NB Bridge Club; Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club and also was a Hospital Volunteer at the Clarke County Hospital.
Those relatives who preceded Dorotha in death were her parents; husband, Arben C. Foland, son, A. Lendell “Len” Foland, sister, Mildred George, sister, Aleta McDaniel, sister, Oma Crabb, sister, Edith Ann Neisemier, brother, Lowell Bud Neff, brother-in-law, Leland Verl George, sister-in-law, Irene Neff, brother-in-law, Nelson McDaniel, brother-in-law, Harold W Crabb and brother-in-law, Clarence Neisemier.
Dorotha leaves to cherish her memory; son, Dwayne (Cathi) Foland of Des Moines, IA; daughter-in-law, Fran Foland of Geneva, IA; grandson, Michael (Pam) Foland of Taylor Ridge, IL, granddaughter, Michele (Jeff) Simpson of Geneva, IA, granddaughter, Nicolle Foland and husband Steve O’Reilly of San Francisco, CA, granddaughter, Raquel (Aaron) Loree of Newton, IA; great-grandchildren, Mikayla Foland, Brooke Foland, Cody (Trina) Simpson, Jadelen Simpson, Jace (Maddie) Simpson, Kasandra Simpson, Dylan (Ridley) Loree, Kinzie (Spencer) Zielke, nine great-great grandchildren; step-granddaughters, Patty (Craig) Mahnke, and Kathy (Ron) Paulsen, step-great-grandchildren, Zach (Lenny) Paulsen, Emma Paulsen, Lauren Mahnke and Lila Mahnke as well as other relatives and many friends.
Graveside Services were held at 2:30 Monday, September 19 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola with Pastor Aaron Loree officiating
Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
