Lonnie Boutwell Jr.

Lonnie Morris Boutwell Jr., son of Lonnie Morris Boutwell Sr. and Vivian (Tracy) Boutwell was born January 1, 1948, in Farmersville, Alabama and passed from this life Friday, October 7, 2022, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa at 74 years of age.

Lonnie grew up in Alabama and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in April of 1966 serving during the Vietnam War, being honorably discharged in March of 1970. He was united in marriage to Barbara Crawford on January 17, 1971, at Visalia, CA and four children blessed this union.

Lonnie was a welder and truck driver and had worked for Simco, ACT and Jimmy Dean before retiring. Following retirement, he began driving a school bus for Clarke Community School, driving for several years. Driving the school bus was one of his greatest joys, and he thought of all the students as his kids.

Lonnie enjoyed woodworking and had made several pieces of furniture for family members. He enjoyed hunting and had a passion for turkey hunting. Lonnie was a member of the Davis-Pence Post #69 of the American Legion.

Those relatives who preceded Lonnie in death were his father, Lonnie Boutwell Sr. mother Vivian Asyncion, grandparents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and Betty Crawford, sister Maurice Boutwell.

Lonnie leaves to cherish his memory; wife of 51 years, Barbara Boutwell of Osceola, IA, daughter, Christy Kramer of Knoxville, IA, son, Donnie (Tami) Boutwell of Lake Park, GA, son, Jeff (Lisa) Boutwell of Pittsfield, ME, son, Lon Boutwell of Pella, IA, grandchildren, Megan (Kyle) Savage of Merritt Island, FL, Jaci Boutwell of Chandler, AZ, Jessika (Manuel) Flores of Waynesville, MO, Dilan (Christina) Boutwell of Valdosta, GA, Tyler (Carmen) Kinney of Knoxville, IA, Travis Goodrich of Osceola, IA, Jeffery (Lindsay) Boutwell of Quantico, VA, Madison Boutwell of Pittsfield, ME, Lonnie Boutwell of Rolla, MO, 16 great grandchildren, brother, Mark Boutwell of Salinas, CA, sister, Christina Freehauf of Bella Vista, AR, brother, Orlanda Asuncion, many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and many friends.

Visitation was Tuesday, October 11 with family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Tuesday evening.

Funeral services were held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM.

Cremation followed the services with burial of his cremains in Maple Hill at a later date.
