Carmalita Van Dyke

Osceola

Carmalita (Carmy) Van Dyke, daughter of Frank and Mable (Beal) Morris was born July 1, 1941, in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa at 81 years of age.

Carmalita moved with her family to different areas of the midwest- Chicago, Beardstown, Illinois and others. She returned to Osceola and met Raymond

Van Dyke and they were united in marriage on March 15, 1958, in Bethany, Missouri. She worked at Furnas Electric for a few years. She was a member of the Christ’sway Church in Osceola. Carmalita enjoyed crafts of all kinds and baking especially at Christmas time. She enjoyed going to garage sales and having garage sales with her sisters. She enjoyed taking long car rides with her husband. She loved to play Aggravation and card games with her family. She enjoyed fishing and vacations to Branson, Missouri. She enjoyed the times spent spoiling her two granddaughters Emily and Michelle as they grew up.

Carmalita was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mable Morris, an infant son, Mitchell Van Dyke who died at birth, brother Marion Morris and sister June Morris.

Carmalita leaves to cherish her memory; husband of 64 years, Raymond Van Dyke of Osceola, IA, son, Rick Van Dyke of Corydon, IA, son Mike (Becky) Van Dyke of Osceola, IA, granddaughters, Michelle (Van Dyke) Hubbard of Osceola, IA and Emily Van Dyke of Ankeny, IA, brother, Ron Morris of Hopeville, IA, sister, Almina Hendrickson of Osceola, IA, sister, Janet (Dan) Hooper of Osceola, IA, as well as nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Thursday October 20, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Shane Simpson officiating.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Kale Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery
