Darla Jenks

Darla Mae (Tripp) Jenks, daughter of Harris William Nichols and Eva Pearle (Travis) Nichols was born April 8, 1944, in Peru, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at her home near Lorimor surrounded by her family, at 78 years of age.

Darla grew up in the Peru area and graduated from Winterset High School.  She was united in marriage to Larry Tripp in 1961. Three sons, William, Jerrold, and Robert blessed this union.  They were living in Oklahoma when Larry preceded her in death in 1986.  Darla married Richard Jenks in 1987, he preceded her in death in 2003.  

Darla enjoyed her family and having them near.  She enjoyed going to the Casino and loved her cats.

Those relatives who preceded Darla in death were her parents, Harris and Eva, step-father, Harley Oglesbee, husbands, Larry Tripp, and Richard Jenks, sons, Robert Tripp, and William Tripp, and brother, Evan Nichols.

Darla leaves to cherish her memory; son, Jerry Tripp of Lorimor, IA, significant other, Donavon Harrison of Lorimor, IA, sister-in-law, Sally Nichols of Pleasant Hill, IA, daughter-in-law, Karla Tripp of Osceola, IA, numerous grandkids and great grandkids and several friends.  

Visitation was Saturday, October 29 from 10 until 11 with funeral at 11 am at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.

Interment will follow in the Peru Cemetery in Peru, Iowa.
