James Carney

Murray

James Dean Carney, son of James Ellsworth Carney and Shirley Jean Husted was born May 14, 1968 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life following an accident, Friday, October 28, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at 54 years of age.

James grew up in Clarke County and graduated from Clarke Community High School with the Class of 1986. Following graduation James enlisted in the U. S. Army and served for 8 years. He was stationed in Germany and was married and had two children, Daniel and Cassandra. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Clarke County and on August 9, 2002 he was united in marriage to Julie Marie Farrell at Clear Lake, Iowa.

James was a hard working family man, he was an over the road truck driver for Star Logistics. James enjoyed motorcycles and was beginning a hobby of shooting and enjoyed going to the shooting range. He loved his grandchildren and spending time with family.

Those relatives who preceded James in death were his grandparents, Dorothy & Walt Carney, and Earl & Oma Page.

James leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Julie Marie Carney of Murray, father, James Ellsworth Carney of Osceola, mother, Shirley (Joseph) Jean Flowers of Garden Grove, son, Daniel Carney, daughter, Cassandra Carney, and son Adam Van Sant all of Germany, son Sean Carney of Murray, son, Jesse Armstrong of Woodburn, son, Cameron (Tracy) Bainter of Hopeville, grandchildren, Jaycen, Payton, Lily, Bryan, Camerao and Delilah, brother, Ronald (Nikki) Carney of Des Moines, brother, David (Diane) Carney of Osceola, sister, Jaclyn Husted of Osceola, brother, Stephen Husted of Garden Grove, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at Murray Church of Christ, Thursday November 3, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Brian McCracken officiating.

Family greeted friends from 9:00 am until service time at the Murray Church of Christ.

Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
