Myrna Aileen Dick, daughter of Harold Hindes and Irma Emm Hindes was born December 24, 1940 in Osceola, Iowa and passed away November 20, 2022 at her home in Murray, Iowa at the age of 81 years.
Myrna received her education at the Murray Schools and graduated from Murray High School in 1959. She attended Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa with studies in Education. She was united in marriage to Charles Gaylord Dick on July 23, 1961 in Murray, Iowa and two sons blessed this union, Bill and David.
Myrna was a lifetime resident of the Murray Community, except for nine months that she spent in Colorado, where she helped operate the family farm south of Murray. Myrna worked as an Activities Coordinator for Assisted Living Facilities in Creston and Osceola, Iowa for 26 years.
Myrna was a faithful member of the Murray Church of Christ in Murray, Iowa. She had a love for music that was passed down to her from her mother. She started playing the piano and organ at an early age and that continued throughout her lifetime playing for Church services, weddings, funerals, and many social events. She was also a teacher in Sunday school for many years.
Myrna was a dedicated mother and hard working. During the time her sons were grown up, she is remembered as always organized and on a schedule. The weekends were not excluded from that schedule down to the very important crisply ironed clothes and Sunday naps on the couch. She enjoyed being outside and working in the yard and had an appreciation for living in the country. She also loved her animals.
Myrna leaves to cherish her memory, son Charles William Dick, wife Rhonda, grandson Jason Dick, wife Heidi their children Kaylin and Grayson, grandson Jonathan Dick, wife Candace their children Aaron and Riley, granddaughter Jessica Quinn, husband Austin their child Charlie, all of Lakeland, Florida; son David Dick, wife Stacy, granddaughter Abigail Ray, husband Logan, grandson Nathan Dick, all Of Mexico, Missouri; sister-in-law, Elaine Frances and children Scott, Angelique, and Grant of Joplin, MO, dear friend - Harold Fuller and Family of Murray, Osceola, Creston and Grimes, IA (Brian and Bobbie Fuller, Paul and Margo Fuller, and Nancy and Richard VanDyke, 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild).
Myrna was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gaylord Dick, parents, Irma and Harold Hindes, brother, James Hindes and brother-in-law, Neil Frances as well as other family and many friends.
Funeral services wereheld at Murray Church of Christ, Saturday December 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Brian McCracken officiating.
Myrna’s family greeted friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Saturday, December 3, 2022 prior to the services at the Murray Church of Christ.
Interment was in the Murray Cemetery.
